The main function of this position is to explain and sell Property and Casualty insurance coverage to small and mid-size businesses. Duties and Responsibilities

Identify sales leads generated from a variety of sources, including networking, referrals, marketing, cold-calling, business directories and lead databases
Maintain a pipeline of sales leads and follow up as necessary
Set up appointments with prospective businesses
Gather necessary information to generate quotations for customer application submissions
Present & explain insurance coverages
Stay informed of industry news/products
Work with internal support staff to build healthy and positive working relationships
Close the deal!

Qualifications and Required Skills

IL Property & Casualty Insurance License required
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required; Some college preferred
Minimum 2 years of Sales experience required
Experience with an Agency Management System preferred (Epic Applied Systems is a plus)
Effective Communication skills, both verbally and written
Positive attitude and the desire to make a difference
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to reach shared goals
Ability to meet deadlines and to remain focused
Ability to present and speak in front of an audience
Outgoing personality, desire to network and build positive and professional relationships
